Verizon Wireless AST Dew Tour TXT2WIN® Sweepstakes Official Rules

This sweepstakes is open to legal residents of the 50 United States, 13 years of age or older as of the day on which they enter. Void outside the U.S. and where prohibited, or otherwise restricted by law. Subject to all federal, state and local laws.

The AST Dew Tour TXT2WINÒ Sweepstakes (the “Sweepstakes”) begins at 12:00:01 a.m. Central Standard Time (“CST”) on June 9, 2008 and ends at 11:59:59 p.m. CST on October 19, 2008 (“Promotion Period”).

1. How To Enter: To enter the Sweepstakes entrants must do one of the following:

A. VIA TXT: If you are a Verizon Wireless service subscriber during the Promotion Period, send the word "ALERT" using the text-messaging feature on your mobile phone to 2999. By doing so, you will be signed up to receive alerts and updates on behalf of Verizon Wireless and AST Dew Tour, and be automatically entered into the Sweepstakes. You must still be signed up for the alerts at the time of the random drawing or your entry will be void. Alerts will be sent on a weekly basis. You will be charged for the text messages and alerts sent and received from your handset according to the terms in your Service Agreement with Verizon Wireless. Verizon Wireless subscribers are charged up to 15 cents per domestic text message/alert sent or received. If you subscribe to a Verizon Wireless TXT Messaging plan, usage will be deducted from your plan’s allowance; excess usage will be billed at 10 cents per text message sent or received. Verizon Wireless prepay subscribers are charged 10 cents per message/alert sent or received.  All entrants must have a text messaging two-way capable handset and digital service in order to enter the Sweepstakes using the text messaging method. Text Messaging, V CAST service and Verizon Wireless service are not available in all areas. 

B. Enter for free online: If you wish to enter for free without sending a text message during the Promotion Period, log on to www.vzwrules.com/ASTdewtour where you will be asked to provide basic contact information, including your name, age, a valid email address, telephone or mobile telephone number (“MTN”).

Limit one entry per participant throughout the entire Promotion Period regardless of method of entry.  All entries must be received no later than 11:59:59 PM CST on October 19, 2008 to be eligible for the Random Drawing.

All entries become the sole property of Verizon Wireless, AST Dew Tour and Vibes Media (collectively, "Sweepstakes Entities"), and receipt of entries will not be acknowledged. Incomplete entries are void. Any individual who attempts or otherwise encourages, directly or indirectly, the entry of multiple or false contact information under multiple identities, by cellular phone, or uses any device or artifice to enter or encourage, directly or indirectly, multiple or false entries, as determined by the Sweepstakes Entities, will be disqualified. Lost, illegible, or incomplete entries will be deemed ineligible and disqualified. In the event of a dispute as to the identity of an entrant, entry will be declared made by the authorized account holder of the telephone number/email address submitted at the time of entry.  "Authorized account holder" is defined as the natural person who is assigned to a telephone number/email address by a telephone company, wireless service provider, Internet access provider, Internet service provider or other organization (e.g. business, educational, institution, etc.) that is responsible for assigning email addresses, telephone numbers or wireless phone numbers for the telephone exchange associated with the submitted telephone number/email address or the domain associated with the submitted telephone, as applicable. Sweepstakes Entities and their respective parents, subsidiaries and affiliates are not responsible for late, lost, incomplete, misdirected, stolen, or damaged entries or for technical, hardware, software or telephone malfunctions of any kind, lost or unavailable network connections, or failed, incorrect, incomplete, inaccurate, garbled or delayed electronic communications caused by the sender, or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Sweepstakes which may limit the ability to participate, including any injury or damage to participant’s or other person’s handset, or by any error that may occur in the processing of the entries or distribution of the prize in this Sweepstakes.

If for any reason, including, but not limited to, infection by computer virus, bugs, worms, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other cause beyond reasonable control of Sweepstakes Entities and their respective parents, subsidiaries and affiliates, that corrupts or affects the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of each Sweepstakes, and the Sweepstakes is not capable of being conducted as described in these Official Rules, Sweepstakes Entities shall have the right, at their sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend this Sweepstakes, and select the prize winner from entries received prior to action taken, or as otherwise deemed fair and appropriate by Sweepstakes Entities. Sweepstakes Entities reserve the right to prosecute any fraudulent entries to the fullest extent of the law. At the Sweepstakes Entities’ sole discretion, Sweepstakes winner may be disqualified at any time for any reason permitted by these rules. 

2. Random Drawing: A prize drawing will be conducted on or about October 20, 2008 from all eligible entries received (“Random Drawing”). One (1) Grand prize winner will be selected to receive a Gibson Guitar signed by Dew Tour Artists. Random Drawing will be conducted by Vibes Media, whose decisions shall be final and binding, as the administrator of this Sweepstakes. The winner will be notified by email or text message, depending on the method of entry within forty-eight (48) hours after the drawing. Winner must respond to notification within two (2) days after notification is sent or an alternate winner may be selected from the remaining eligible entries.  Upon prize forfeiture, no compensation will be given. The odds of winning depend on the total number of eligible entries received during the Promotion Period.

3. Prize: If you send your entry via text message, prize will be awarded to the name corresponding to the Verizon Wireless MTN from which the text message originated. In case of dispute as to the identity of entrant, entry will be declared made by the authorized holder of the MTN.  If you send your entry online, prize will be awarded to the name on the online entry form.

Grand Prize:  The Grand Prize is a Gibson Guitar signed by Dew Tour Artists. Approximate Retail Value (“ARV”) $1,200.

4. Eligibility:   Sweepstakes is open to legal U.S. residents 13 years of age or older as of date of entry. Employees of Vibes Media, Verizon Wireless, and Action Sports Tour, LLC, NBC Sports Ventures, Inc., and Sports Ventures Sub, Inc., or any of their respective parent and affiliated companies, subsidiaries, advertising and promotional agencies and any and all other companies associated with the Sweepstakes and the employees, agents, officers, directors, and their immediate families (parent, siblings, children and spouse) and persons residing in the same household (whether related or not) of such employees are not eligible to enter or win. Void in Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, U.S. Military installations in foreign countries, anywhere outside of the U.S and where prohibited, taxed or restricted by law. 

5. General: By entering, all entrants agree to be bound by these Official Rules and by the decisions of the Sweepstakes Entities, which shall be final and binding. By participating in the Sweepstakes by text message, all entrants authorize Verizon Wireless to communicate with them by text message and to provide Vibes Media with their text messaging address. By accepting prize, the winner grants to Sweepstakes Entities the right to use winner's name, likeness, image, voice, hometown, and biographical information in advertising, trade and promotion, including on the Internet or via wireless application protocol, without further notice, compensation or permission, except where prohibited by law. Winner will be required to complete, sign and return an Affidavit of Eligibility and Publicity/Liability Release within seven (7) days prior to the winner’s receipt of prize or prize may be forfeited and awarded to an alternate. If the winner is less than 18 years of age or a minor under the law of his/her jurisdiction of residence, his or her respective parent or guardian will be required to execute an Affidavit acknowledging, confirming and consenting to the Liability Release and Publicity Consent. If parent or guardian is unavailable to execute this Affidavit, the winner will not receive the prize and an alternate winner will be selected. All taxes and any other expenses related to the acceptance and/or the receipt and use of prize shall be the sole responsibility of the winner. Prize is non-transferable and non-assignable. Sponsor, in their discretion, may substitute a prize of equal or greater value for any reason.

Any personal information supplied by any entrant to Sweepstakes Entities will be subject to Verizon Wireless' privacy policy posted at http:// www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/footer/privacy.jsp and terms of service posted at http://www.verizonwireless.com. Entrants who do not comply with these Official Rules or attempt to interfere with this Sweepstakes in any way shall be disqualified. The use of automated entry devices or any other conduct that impedes the integrity of the Sweepstakes is prohibited. Sweepstakes shall be construed only according to U.S laws. This sweepstakes shall be governed by the laws of the state of New Jersey without regard to its conflict of laws provision.

6. Indemnification: By entering, all entrants agree to be bound by these Official Rules and the Sweepstakes Entities' decisions. By entering entrant agrees to release, hold harmless and indemnify Verizon Wireless, Vibes Media, and Action Sports Tour, LLC, NBC Sports Ventures, Inc., and Sports Ventures Sub, Inc. and their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, contractors, directors, officers, governors, employees and agents from any and all liability, damages or causes of action (however named or described), with respect to or arising out of (i) entrant's participation; and/or (ii) the receipt or use of the prize awarded in the promotion, including but not limited to any claims for damage to property, personal injury, death or claims based on defamation, rights of privacy, rights of publicity or merchandise delivery. False or deceptive entries or acts will render the entrant ineligible. Sweepstakes Entities are not responsible for printing errors in these Official Rules.
